Rep Power: 0 Sub wiring question - brain fart.....
OK guys, silly question. I've been sitting here thinking of how I can possibly rewire my subs. Here's what I've got currently.
Amp : RF bd1000.1 (500W @ 4ohm or 1000W @ 2 ohm)
Subs : Two IDQ12 DVC(4ohm)
I currently have the speakers wired in parallel, and the coils wired in series, presenting the amp with a 4ohm load. I was thinking about re-wiring them, to put the speakers and coils in paralell, but this would present a 1 ohm load to the amp(too much).
I am trying to think of a way to wire the subs to present a 2 ohm load to the amp, and for the life of me, I can seem to figure it out (brain fart). I keep thinking I'm going to have to wire the speakers in series, and the coils in parallel (or both speakers and coils in series), but that doesn't sound right (possible?) to me. And if it is, then I am having a tough time figuring it out.
Any help you guys can give me, would be appreciated. I've got sheets of paper that I have drawn and redrawn wiring diagrams all over, working on this. If it helps, I have a "blank" wiring diagram. I'll attach a couple similar pics also.

Rep Power: 0 Seriously, any help you guys can offer, would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped. Maybe my above drawings are incorrect, or my understanding of them is wrong. I don't know. I just want to know if it's possible for me to get a 2ohm load out of a pair of dual voice coil 4 ohm subs.
Thanks.
Thanks.
