Problems with amp...

I got a kenwood 728s the other day, and have been blowing up fuses like crazy. i have connected the ground wire, the remote turn on wire, the speaker wire (i have it bridged correctly), and the RCA's. i have the battery wire connected, but when i go to connect it to the dist block (system if turned off) it sparks and blows the fuses. i have it set to LPF and it is now in stereo (although i tried it in mono and it blew fuses too). the only thing i can think of is the gain ****, but would this be a problem with the system off? any tips people have will be appreciated, it's really ticking me off.

Yeah, your have a short. Go check all your wiring again. I'm sure you'll find somewhere that the wire is grounding. better the fuse than your amp

argh i am mad, i think i switched the ground and power leads before and fried the amp. that's what i get for using red wire for both. anybody know what i might have fried if this is so? i am a EE major so if it's replacing an amplifier circuit or soldering something i might be up for it.

check if your RCA's are touching the chassis at any point. or maybe a break in the RCA somewhere. try moving the wires behind the HU while the system is on too, sometimes you get lucky like that
