Some good sealant

What is some good stuff to seal a pre-fab box with that I can buy at Home Depot...something not crazy expensive, and that I can easily get a lot of? I think I may have an air leak...and I just want to test it out with some extra sealant.

And if this doesn't work, what is a good way to get rid of tinsel lead slap? I have read something about using the soft side of velcro tape (or strip)...I dunno about this one though. I have to take all of my stuff out in order to put one of my subs in...so if I am going to do the work I also want to figure out why my other sub is rattling. Just trying to hit it from every angle to make sure I do it right

Thanks

As far as the sealent goes, just use silicone bathroom caulk or something similer....just make sure it's silicone. I got my tube of it at sears for like 3 bucks....was enough to seal a full box. Just make sure you do a good job the first time...once it dries it wont stick to itself so you cant add more. Also, it smells like cat **** when wet.... possible....just let the silicone dry before you put the sub in. The fumes are only there while it dries. Also, I cant remember if its foam or rubber that it damages....one of those materials is safe from the fumes....I think it's the foam it damages....not positive though.

It pays to wait till it dries to put the sub in anyway.....if you put the sub in before it dries it will take longer to dry, and if you play them before it dries it can mess up the seal.

so you got the terminals, and you got the voice coil, and you got those tough wires that go from teh terminal to teh voice coil. sometimes those wires "slap" the cone during excursion. thats lead slap. its this really ****ing annoying sound that drives you up the wall and across the ceiling.
