big electrical problem...need help

hey guys...

i really need some help on this one...

friday i was driving home from work and had my radio going (not even that loud) and all of a sudden i hear "zzzzzz-POP" then radio goes out.

i waited until the next morning to take a look at it.

i can't find any broken fuses...anywhere
the dome light, when switched on door doesn't work.
i think it was the radio, but switched in the factory HU and it is not getting power.
the OEM keyless entry doesn't work
and the warning sensor that tells you your lights are on doesn't work.

any help concerning this is greatly appreciated. everyone here has been great help in the past. i'm sure you guys can help me through this one.

also i have seen similar posts but no solutions. i'm hoping someone has found one by now.

thanx

Also there would be a reason the fuse blew.. take it back to where bought the HU or got it all installed...it's a warranty issue on the installation..if you installed it yourself..time to go back check all your speaker connections and wiring..find the short.. Also find the fuse that blew (under the steering column..hint hint )

i installed it myself....
the HU is done... i took it out and gave it a seperate 12 v supply to try and take my cd out and it started smoking.
i have no speakers running through the stock wiring. its all run through the rca's

i checked the radio, security fuse...nothing. i looked under the hood and couldn't see anything.
(they could've put the fuse box in an easier place i can't even get to the fuses on the far right)

keep in mind its like 20 degrees here w/ no garage. so extended outside work is difficult.

i agree its a short, but any specific fuses that you know of that will cause those particular systems to lose power?

tell me about it...
i just got off the phone w/ a honda tech and described the problem. he said fuse number 3 under the hood @7.5amps

i thought i looked there.
anyway, haven't checked it yet b/c of weather and work. but i hope he's right if not he said i could've blown a computer, though he sounded confident.

if it is the case that fuse is going to stay blown tell i have a chance to recheck all my wires and rca's and then get a new HU...

any suggestions guys...guys...hello???

I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN!!! sometimes my speakers pop when the car shuts off (don't know why there either), but when i left my gf's house i had the car on for maybe 10 seconds and i heard that loud assss pop and shut the car off right away. i was so jumpy, but when i turned the car back on all was well again and i have had no problems since then. sorry about the lack of solutions, but hopefully that means no long term damage

well guys,
i checked out the fuse the guy at honda mentioned and it was fine.
so according to that guy its probably a computer, and b/c it was my radio that blew up, i'll probably have to pay for it. also w/ it being so cold i won't be able to pull any of the amps or hook up the OEM radio back up.
i'll let you know what the dealership says when i find out jic some one has the same prob.

hmmm...... blown computer doesn't sound good at all....... oh and double... the popping speaker is because
of the electrical current going thru the speakers gets cut off when you kill the power and it causes a small irregularity
in the power flow..... blah blah blah...... and that causes the speakers to twitch a bit so ya get a pop....... that
usually isn't a problem

yeah it definitely sux,
though thinking about i still want to blame honda and have them fix it for free. since it was an electrical problem and a fuse didn't blow.
i mean that's what fuses are for, right?
