I am not that familiar wit car stereo, but i am more of a hi-fi audiophile so i know alot about home audio. anyways, i was wondering if it is possible to connect the factory head deck to an amp with speaker level inputs?? i know it won't sound its best but i don't like aftermarket head decks cause it doen't match as well and i won't get jacked like i did before wit another car. has anyone else done this setup? and would it work with the speaker inputs without distorting?

Some amps have both high speaker level inputs and / or low RCA level inputs.

High inputs go off speaker outputs of the deck.
Low inputs (RCA) go off aftermarket decks.

If your amp only has Low inputs, get a LOC (Line out converter) to take the deck speaker high outputs and convert them to low inputs for the amp.

youll never get nearly the same quality through a converter as you will with rca's, but itll be better

When I park in the ghetto I take the faceplate off so

hu aren't that bad. right now i have polk ex365 6.5" and ex369 6x9 and it pretty good. but i guess i listen to more of an acoustic type music. i am not really into the today's music. i am probably one of the few that appreciates the factory hu.
