sub suggestions for single woofer setup
I am trying to find a sub to use in a single woofer setup that will be loud yet tight. The amp I am using is a Kicker Impulse 405 5-channel with the following specs.
Rated power to the sub:
12 volts - 200 wrms @ 4 ohms
300 wrms @ 2 ohms
14 volts - 300 wrms @ 4 ohms
400 wrms @ 2 ohms
I want to use one 12" sub in a sealed box, no ports. Any suggestions for subs I can use would be helpful. Thanks.

alpine type arrrrrrr might be nice and not too pricey (range?). listen to some and see what you like.
i think they're sweet because they're kevlar, but there are a lot out there

"Pioneer TS-WX121 12" 400W Enclosed Subwoofer" it comes in a box so the sound quality is much better, although its not as powerful as Alpine Type-R.

Try a JL W3 D6 or D4 ran mono at 3 or 2 ohms, I borrowed a buddies and gave it about ~300 watts and hit a 139.8 in a SPECIAL ported box. They sound great sealed too.
im runnin a single sub set up
i got a 10" solobaric running off a kicker 600.1 sub amp and it sounds good as hell
i probly wont win any competitions but its good enough for me. you can hear me coming down the street

they work with as little as 1 watt dude.. unless it's an all out SPL sub with crazy stiff suspension you can never technically have too little power for a sub... you just won't have enough power to drive the sub to full excursion...[hr]

definately go with JL they sound the best, as for amp I have a JL 10 w3 and have an alpine 600 watt amp on it, so I dont know if you should go up to 12. I think if you want loud get a 10w6, those are really loud and then save a little on the amp instead of buying another $1000 amp for a 12 sub.
