Porting A Box????
Hey everyone, this is the one thing that is holding me back in the making of my new sub box. I am buying a lightning audio 4" diamater slot for my box and I am going to put my jl audio 12w3 in it. I am making it according to the specs on the jl audio site. I am drawing the outlines for the cut outs for the sub and port and the port hole for the slot is a 5-9/16" diameter hole. Now the port itself is only a 4", whats up with this? Also, when I am putting in the port, there isn't much room for the port to go on side of the sub, there is only room for it to go in the top right or bottom right. Is it ok for the port to be in the top right, that is where I drew it up on the board in comparison to the sub, which is on the left middle. I would really appreciate your help, Thanks!

it's designed to work with aerovent ports...which are pretty much just velocity stacks... it's a pipe with one end rouded off to a flange...this prevents port noise..
