Is This Sub Box Any Good?????

Hey everyone, I know I keep on posting messages concerning this topic, but I am not sure if this sub box that I found on ebay for my new JL Audio 12w3 is any good. The manufacturers of this box say that these single 12" slot port boxes are really good and will increase you db and they have very good feedback and very few complaints, which is a good thing to back up what they are saying. Here is the link:

Here

This box is made almost to spec with what the jl audio site says, but I am not sure of the ported section. It may be a bad angle, but it almost just looks like a hole cut in a closed enclosure. I would really appreciate your help, thanks!

Thats what I said!!

i would definately ask these guys for another angle picture

see.. the other thing with a ported enclosure is that the port length and opening size has to be the right size for your particular sub (that is based on the specifics of the driver... like Vas, Qts, etc.) or it wont sound that great

The box looks like a correct port from the pics they have.....(as in, it goes all the way back) but like the other guys said, a ported box really needs to meet the exact specs of the driver....otherwise you can get sloppy bass, and besides, those feedback things are BS.....changing from a single sub sealed box to the port cant increase your bass by 20 dB.....I had a ported box custom built a while ago for two 10's, and I liked them much better in the sealed box....was a lot tighter. Also, I dont think it says what that box is made out of, but I just skimmed it....make sure you buy a box made out of at least 3/4 MDF....some cheap boxes (ones from best buy and such) are made of particle board, and that stuff just sucks.
