Don't know much about boxes, but heres what I can tell you. 10's will hit, not that well with 400 watts on them. Fosgate's are pretty good. They will hit find out how much power they can handle and put that much on em I would reccomend like 800-1000 watts to really hit, its up to you and how much bass you like.

My cousin has 2 punch 10's in his truck, and they hit pretty hard...it sounds good, and they actually hit harder than 2 12's...I'd go for it, but that's just me.

Which 2 12's..in which enclosure...with how much power?... I can make a 6.5" woofer hit harder than 15" sub...if I gave the 6.5 about 150Wrms and played an 80hz note and had the 15 in a tiny box and gave it 1/2 a watt...
