i have a 2002 lx sedan. i just got some 6 1/2 kicker speakers for front and back. im getting an amp for x-mas. should i run the new speakers from the amp? or should i run the speakers from the head unit, and get some subs to go with the amp? which is the best sound? please help, and any other information would be great to.

Imo, if you run the speakers off the hu and a sub off an amp, the sub is going to seriously over power the other speakers in volume. I would amp the speakers and worry about the sub later. You really need an amp to achieve any decent volume level with clear sound reproduction.

Get a 4 channel amp for your door speakers. Those are more important to put an amp to than to get that amp for x-mas and get subs for it. Your door speakers will sound a ton better with an external amp powering them. But if you did decide to power your door speakers with your HU amp and use the amp for subs, you should buy the subs first, then get an amp to go with it. You shouldn't buy speakers to go with an amp. Buy an amp to go with speakers (same with subs).

Depends on the amp. in one of my old cars i just had an amp for my subs. and ran all my speakers off the deck. (granted i was still a n00b in the audio scene)

ya if you like to bump and thump, get the sub first. trust me, the 6.5"'s don't give you much low (got a sedan). also subs are easier to do right. and noise is very tough to detect from such a big speaker.
