Help!

would 600 x 1 be too much power at 1-ohm for (2) 10" Dual 4-ohm Voice Coil Subs with 400w rms - 600w max?

All depends on where your figures cam e from and how you wire this stuff...

If 600 x 1 is RMS and you run your 2 subs in parallel ( 2 || 2 = 1 OHMS; assuming you run each subs DV coils in parallel to get a 2 Ohm load for each sub) then your amp will deliver 600 W into a 1-Ohm load and then each speaker will only "see" 1/2 the power the amp can deliver so each sub will get 300 W RMS. That will definetely put you within your power restrictions

It also depends on which brand subs you have. I run JL's and they are "rated" for like 200 W RMS (per coil i think) and i run close to 700 W RMS and they hold up just fine.

You should be safe with your scenario tho.

If you have any ?'s on how to hook it up, just lemme know

any sound differences between a SVC and a DVC?

I am trying to plan this out because i am getting

(2) 10" DEI (Directed Audio) Studio Subwoofer's

Size: 10"
Magnet: 100 oz.
Power Handling: 400 watts RMS/600 peak
Impedance: dual 4 ohm v.c.
Freq. Response: 25-2500Hz
Efficiency: 85dB (2.83V @ 1M)

They also come in single 4 ohm v.c.

now... they are for SQ and I wanna run 2 of them on a mono amp what should I get SVC series or the DVC and what ohm load should I wire them for?

Here is my amp choices:

Size: 250d
4-ohm: 150 x 1
2-ohm: 250 x 1
1-ohm: N/A var.
Crossover: 12dB low-pass
Bass EQ: 8dB
RCA Output: stereo

Size: 600d
4-ohm: 275 x 1
2-ohm: 400 x 1
1-ohm: 600 x 1
Crossover: 18dB low-pass
Bass EQ: 8dB
RCA Output: mono

Size: 1100d
4-ohm: 425 x 1
2-ohm: 800 x 1
1-ohm: 1100 x 1
Crossover: 18dB low-pass
Bass EQ: 8dB
RCA Output: mono

Size: 2400d
4-ohm: 1400 x 1
2-ohm: 2400 x 1
1-ohm: N/A var.
Crossover: 18dB low-pass
Bass EQ: 8dB
RCA Output: mono

I'm thinking the 1100d with two 4 ohm SVC in parallel for 2 ohms and 400 watts each

ok got that figured out heh

Now what amp should I use for my 5 1/4" component system and my 6.5" mid bass drivers. I wanna run a seperate 2-channel amp for each one. 6.5" Mid Bass is going in my doors and 5 1/4" components are goin in kick panels..

Component System
Size: 5 1/4"
Magnet: 43g
Power: 80W RMS/150 peak
Impedance: 4 ohm

(2) Mid Bass Drivers
Size: 6 1/2"
Magnet: 53g
Power: 100 watts RMS/175 peak
Impedance: 4 ohm

Amps

Directed 2150
4-ohm: 50 x 2
2-ohm: 75 x 2
1-ohm: N/A var.
Crossover: 12dB 2-way
Bass EQ: 8dB
RCA Output: stereo

Directed 2400
4-ohm: 125 x 2
2-ohm: 200 x 2
1-ohm: N/A var.
Crossover: 12dB 2-way
Bass EQ: 8dB
RCA Output: stereo

first of all, the sub amp, stick with the 600d, save yourself some money, get the dvc's and wire em down to 1 ohm... you honestly wont notice the difference between 600 and 800 watts, ESPECIALLY for SQ

but with the amp for the components, get the larger one... my philosophy is, as long as youre not overpowering, the more power the better, then you can get the same volume level while driving the amps even less, therefore less distortion...
