Alpine Type-R 12" 4ohm DVC sub and Profile 600MSX mono amp...!
im back with a report regarding my Profile 600MSX mono sub amp and my Alpine Type-R 12" Dual 4ohm Voice Coil sub in a custom 0.9ft^3 sealed box that i finally got installed (the box is located in the spare tire well; it is constructed out of 3/4" particleboard using 1.5" drywall screws and Liquid Nails, sealed with silicone on all seams, and *stuffed* with polyfill):
holy living crap this thing pounds like you wouldnt beleve. i can hear body panels and sh*t under the car rattling. it makes things rattle i didnt even know were there. i was sitting in my car playing some good rap (e.g. Big Tymers - "Oh Yeah!", BIG - "Hypnotize") music with nice low bass off an MP3 CD-RW w/ my Alpine CDA-7894 and Infinity Reference components and the sound quality is clear and precise with no audible distortion, and it seriously feels like i have a vibrating massager in my seat (as well as everywhere else on my body) and its not even cranked all the way up. this damn sub is almost more powerful than this car can handle IMO (at least it seems that way, what with all the stuff that rattles
). it is getting 410WRMS@2ohms (the amp's wattage is rated at 14.4V, but whatever) and also the amp was not even warm after playing heavy azz bass for quite a while last night testing this baby out!
this thing is unbelievable, especially for $160 for the sub and $130 for the amp
