HU Install question??????

Hey everyone, one more question about installing my new alpine HU. I have an aftermarket alarm and all that, so do I really need to connect a wire from the battery to the back of the new HU? If so, what color would that be in the connector?

do you have an Alpine HU that states that you need such a direct battery connection? i have the CDA-7894 with the VDrive 60Wx4 amp so it requires a minimum 10guage wire directly connected to the battery. if your head unit says to connect it directly to the battery, then i'd say it would be safer to do so, but if not you should be able to just connect it to the power that comes out of the factory wire-harness for the HU. (the color of the power wire that goes into my Alpine's wiring harness is yellow, but if it is different on yours it should be labeled something like 'Power'/'12V')

Hey Buddy Take it from me if you have an '02 model with high a high power internal amp you should really run that power wire to the battery with at least a 12guage wire and a fuse at the battery and the ground wire to the chasis of the car. Trust Me I know!!! I work for Alpine!
