Amp brands

Hey i'm gettin ready to buy an amp, but I dont want to spend a whole lot. I just want a good quality amp that will hold up and sound good that is close to $150(a little above would be okay but around that.) Any suggestions would help me out a lot. Thanks

Check out some Profile and US Acoustics amps. They will run you that price and do a reallly good job. Go to Crutchfield and check them out.

Honestly, I like the MTX Thunder amps myself. They're pretty good quality and push kind of hard and are very stable. Make sure you buy the thunder line, not the road thunder crap (the stuff they sell at Sears/Circuit City). The thunder is the better of the 2 lines.

MTX is the best amp for powering subs. Check out my member rides page to see the one I have. It's small and fairly cheap (I got a deal for $279) and powers two 10" subs.

Wow your laughing at MTX but the MA amp you have pushes 800wattsx2 or 400x1 when bridged? That makes no sense at all.

MA amps get my WSBL (when struck by lightning) power theory. 800x2 Max power WSBL. For 2 years I worked for an audio manufacturor which had their amps produced by the same people as MA and the stuff was garbage.

I'm with azn on this one tho. Maybe not a zeus amp with your budget but stay with something Hifonics you can even pick up a Z4000, which is their lower end stuff, for around $150 on ebay.
