i should get mine im just too lazy or working on my system.

but being certified really doesnt mean [IMG]i/expressions/moon.gif[/IMG] you can read the book and go get certified. but still not know what to do when installing something.

you have to get the book here then go to a local library get the test sent to the library then take the test and have it sent back

When i got my job at an audio shop, i was competing with half a dozen individuals, all whom had completes installer training camp, mecp certification, all sorts of stuff that put them over me. I am a hobby installer. no more, no less. so why did i get the job over them? becasue I demonstrated to teh company that i was dedicated to my hobby. sure, I dropped a resume just like them, but it wasnt teh resume that got me hired. hell, i doubt management would even wipe themselves with our resumes much less read them.

so why do you need mecp certification? #1: your getting a job at best buy and they care not for yoru college essay, just your GPA. they will want the certificte, skill and desire be d a m m e d. #2: S&G.

but working at a real shop is much more fun than best buy, and you dont have to fill out as much paperwork [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]

MECP Certification
I just left best buy to go to a "real shop" they wanted me to be certified to sell.. good fun though this place has so much great equipment... :roolage::

i know that being certified is a pretty much a job requirement, but unless you actually know what to do once you get into the install bay. certifiaction means crap

I'm not Certified but I've worked in 2 car audio shops part time. most people that work in shops aren't certified..ONly places like best buy, and Future shop actually require it. The best guys in Montreal for custom installs of the 4..one is certified....
