Headunit Bracket (mount)
I'm going to be gettin a new headunit soon, and just wanted to know where I can purchase the bracket or mount where the headunit goes into. I have a 2001 EX coupe just to let you know. Thanks for the input people!

I don't know why everyone wants a kit to add a head unit!! Just take the old one out and screw the new one in. It fits perfectly and you can keep your secret door compartment below! Just screw the new head unit in the same holes with the same screws. I've had an eclipse and now a Clarion and both worked so I would imagine other head units should just screw right in as well, without buying a kit!

I bought the kit that was the top piece only AND the American International kit. I wanted to keep the oe pocket as well. I tried the top piece only and didn't like the way it looked at all.
I think the American International kit is the best as far as quality. I think it also looks the best. Plus, now that the door is gone, I actually use the pocket.
Oh, and talk to any installer about the kit that is the top piece only. It's basically hit and miss as far as fitting right. I was also told by several installers that it warps easily because it doesn't fit right.
In the end, I just thought the amer kit looked the best.

I bought the american international kit from Best Buy.
I got the Metra kit, top part only, part # 99-7897 from Freeman's Car Stereo on Independence Blvd (hwy 74). It is just outside downtown Charlotte. Their Phone # is 704-332-4716. I paid 20 and change for that cheap **** kit.
You can also find the kit online here. I am telling you though, it's a cheap and I mean cheap, kit. It just doesn't look right imo. Plus, some cd players will not work with it either.
Click on the link in my sig if you want to see the american kit.

It looks like crap without the kit, yes the angle you took the picture at is very nice, now look at it fro the top, it's so ghetto looking. Gaps and all, use the AI Kit it is the best.
