Can I mount the amp like this?

I did a search, and I couldn't find what I was looking for... maybe I just didn't see it. Anyways-- I'm going to be installing an amp in the next week (as soon as it arrives) and its a 4 channel amp that is going to power all four speakers in the car. Is it possible to mount the amp underneath the driver's seat or the passenger seat (preferably the driver's seat)? Or is that a really bad idea on our cars? I have a 2dr coupe, and I bought the pioneer GM-X364 amp. If anybody can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

It would have to be a pretty small amp..but i should work..Otherwise your best bets is to mount it to the back of he rear seat..which is relly easy

Very easily.. Unzip the cloth backing. stuff a sheet of MDF or plywood back there..drill holes.. use Tie Wraps to hold it to the metal rods back there.. Screw the amp to the sheet of MDF

I would use the back seat as well. Under the drivers seat or passengers seat will not only be hard to access, unless you take the seat off, but what if you have a passenger in the back, or need to get to the back? Your amp will hit when it slides up and the passenger might kick the amp causing wires to maybe come loose.

I have mine under the seats and wish they were on the back of the seats. First problem is when I disconnected my seats, the SRS light stayed on. I got that fixed, but the bigger problem is heat dispersion. My fans kick on so quick, even when I have the AC to the floor ducts. I don't carry anyone in the back seat, but there would be a problem with their feet kicking my amps. Another problem that I have is that the floormat doesn't sit right because I the amps are where it is supposed to tuck under the seats.

I had an amp mounted under the passenger seat once. It was near impossible to get to, it interfered with the rear floor mat, sometimes caught on the seat sliding back and forth, people kicked it and rested their feet on it, and I think the confined space makes them run a little hotter than they normally would.

I would put it in the trunk...

Unless you're like me and have two amps. One under the seat and one behind the back seat. You can't fit two amps back there. I don't mind it there. I always tell the ppl in the back to be careful and not kick it. Have fun.
