Amp mounting questions...

Ok, so I have two amps. One is mounted to my sub box and the other is sitting under the pass. seat. I would like to have both mounted to the back of the rear seats but after measuring I doubt I'll have enough room to mount them both there. I kinda don't want that amp under the seat but I will if I have no other choice.

Ok, so my question. How much would it cost and does anyone know how to build custom boxes for the amps and put them between the wheel well and the back of the trunk? I think they'd look nice there, mounted on the surface of course for heat disperssion. Does anyone have any better ideas? I kinda want to do it tomorrow. I'd appreciate all inputs.

I guess if not I'll just mount one in the back and one under the pass. seat where it is right now.

Thanx ppl.

I made a false bottom for my amps. Worked out pretty good. I have them tore back out in preparation for a system upgrade. I'm at work now so I can't post any pics.

if you have any experiance with a welder and bending/shaping metal, and a fair amount of knowledge of electronics and motors, you could make a motorized amp rack to mount to the underside of the rear deck. its not that hard, as long as you know how to weld and have access to a welder. buy some raw sheeting (aluminum, titanium, steel, doesnt really matter) and make you a rack that your amps will fit in, and fit it with a roller type device. then pre drill holes and screw it down. then you get a window motor out of a car (buy a new one or get one from a junk yard) hook it up to the rack and supply a power source and youre set, aslong as you have clearance and so on and so forth. a good 10-12 hour project over a weekend. you could also have a machine shop make the rack then all you have to do is mount it and connect the motor. fairly simple, but time consuming and kinda boring, but a sacrifice well made to give you that custom look. im gonna make mine once i get my system where im satisfied with it, its gonna be aluminum and im gonna polish it and machine a design into it then have it anodized blue.

Unzipped the seats...slid a piece of MDF under the steel rods..drilled a few holes in it and used zip ties to hold it to the rods.. then made a full plate to cover the back of both seats and screwed that into the MDF backings that were zip tied to the seat..
