JBL BP300.1 Mono Amp

anyone have experience with that amp? its up in the market place for 100 bucks. im planning on pusing 2 12 inch subs. probably jl w3's

That's a mono block amp right? If I remember, those mono block JBL's are good down to 1 ohm. May not be enough power. If you get the 4 ohm 12W3's then you can wire them in parallel to a 1.5 ohm load. That'll pull a ton of power outta that amp and you'll be bumpin pretty good. Though I've been informed (and not entirely sure if it's true) that at lower resistences you THD increases. Then again, if you're running a mono block the THD is probably already high. I think that amp puts out 300 x 1 @ 2 ohms? Is that right? If it is then you might want something a little bigger. Two 12W3's take 500 watts RMS together.

yeah its 300x1 at 4 ohms. its continous power handling is 250 watts. would 150 watts continous be underpowering it?

only the 600.1 and the 1200.1 are down to 1 ohm.. the 300.1 only goes down to 2, but the 600 and 1200 have no power increase between 1 and 2 ohms
