I just got a 12 inch kenwood sub (kfc-w3003), and a boss amp (rev 555 300*2ch) at a garage sale. Im the guy that got that pioneer deh-4400 pioneer head unit. Now, i am totally clueless, and i need help on the installation. The pioneer has a weird subwoofer hookup, u can turn the rear rca otputs to sub outputs, but that in turn bridges the rear powered outputs of the headunit into a sub out. The sub is rated at 4ohm, and the amp is bridgeable. How in the world do i do this?any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'll try answer your question..

So, you're saying that if you set the rear channel's pre-amp outs as sub out (basically just a non fading LPF) then you lose the internal amp's rear channels? I say just hook up the amp to those channels and maybe use the amp's crossovers. I don' tknow anythign about the amp, but if it's stable at 4 ohms mono, then bridge those channels together and connect it to the amp. I'm not sure what else there is.

Note: 1000 Boss Watts = 25 TURE WATTS. I just don't understand these crappy mfgs that totally over-rate their amps.

Ok i know the boss amp is crap, but thats all i have right now so for now im going to try and wire it. The amp is 2ohm sterro stable, meaning that u dont have to bridge it to get maximum power right? The amp itself has a pair of RCA ins. Now, if i connect both the left and right RCA plug it will be sending a signal to both the left and right channel right, so if i connect only the one kenwood sub to say the left channel id be missing half the signal. How do i connect the head unit amp and sub so i get max power, and all the signal?
