I don't like clarion. go for Pioneer, they are comparable in price and better, IMHO.

whats nice about clarion is that they are far simpler to use than pioneer, and dont come with all those nice bass boost features any true audiophile would never touch and are famous in the industry for blowing woofers.

my shop doesnt carry pioneer anymore cause once they tuned the radios, the customer would jack up the bass boost, blow all their woofers, then come back to the shop demanding warrantee replacements. stop stocking pioneer, stop taking in so many repairs.

im not reccommending clarion over pioneer. im certainly not reccommending pioneer over clarion. they are different decks for different ppl, just as good and solid as the other.

For the lower end HU's Clarions have better DAC's...For higher end Clarions..thay have dual 24-bit DAC's...Better sound in general..However Pioneer has the nice displays and generally more features that you'll never use...

Both are good HU's..but I would go with Clarion..also check out http://www.onlinecarstereo.com for better prices on Clarions

It's the classic battle of gentlemanly One-upmanship.. we're never hostile, Our disagreements tought us both a fair bit more about car audio. We always seem to both be half right in our own ways.

RC's on.. we'll take a Pioneer 8400 and a Clarion 925Z... I'll supply the amps for his test too. My Arc 2100CXL. and I'll go the Flea market and grab a Pyramid amp and we'll A/B it all on my Rainbow speakers.. I think I'd be $20k Richer by the end of the test provided it involves playing music and not sine waves.

Having sold them all I can tell you Clarion lasts longer, their qulaity control is better and they have one of the best tuners on the market, go Clarion. The only division of Pioneer worth a damn is teh Pro diviason, but unless you DJ like me you don't care.
