Choice of amps

I have one kicker solo baric L7 10" sub woofer in my trunk........2 JL 6*9 in the rear deck............and two Alpine 6.5's in my doors.........if i want to run my whole system through an amp....do i need a 5 channel amp?? The kicker sub needs at least 600w cause that is what it plays RMS............What would be a good amp........not too pricey but not Cheap quality?? I also was looking through a Viper catalog and they have there amps rated 4 ohms .....2 ohms......and 1 ohm.....What are they talking about??

a 5 channel that can run all that at the proper RMS is gonna be either quite expensive or impossible to find, just get 2 amps. Personally I prefer Rockfords

You're gunna want two amps, a 4 channel and a mono block class D amp. The resistance, measured in ohms is 4 for the speakers, depending on whether your sub is a DVC it runs at 4 ohms or 2 ohms. The lower the resistance the more power that goes to the speaker. You have to be careful to make sure that your amp can run at the lower resistance without overheating. For a 4 channel i would recommend the MTX 6304, and for a mono i would recommend the MTX 6500 D. The 6304 is $294 shipped at onlinecarstereo, and the 6500D is $306 shipped. Both are underated and expect the 6500D to feed your sub at least 700 watts. Both are pretty solid and of good quality. You will also need a 4 guage wiring kit with the amps and a distrubition block. Good Luck.
