SPL= Sound Pressure Level, measured in dBs (decibels).

Wow, it would really be a problem to have over 100 of those!

SPL is simple, its output. how much can you PRESSURIZE yoru cabin? at these volumes, its n olonger sound waves, its pressure waves

SQ is a highly debated topic, caraudio attracts 2 kinds of people at least. those who are mathematical in mind, and those who are more artistic in mind.

those who are mathematical like to think in terms of how much power for what woofer, in what size box, tuned to what frequency, with how long of a port, etc..... this kind of SQ is a flat response, having your highs sound clean and clear, accurate bass that doesnt sound sloppy.

then there are the kinds of ppl who dont care how efficient a woofer, what teh QTS is, what the RATED power handling is, whether its made of silk or titanium, they only care, in teh end, if it sounds good or not. these kinds of ppl (only these kind of ppl are successful SQ competitors BTW) SQ is defined as getting the sound from their system to sound EXACTLY like it sounded in teh recording studio. its all aspects of mathematical, but something more. its not explainable in definite terms which is why youll see far fewer of these kind of people.

its also why i can **** off customers in the shop so much, i can tell then about how one woofer can take x amount of power just fine, how one woofer with less power cna sound just as loud and clean as another. they flat out tell me "no its not." "power DOES make a difference" "you dont know what your talking about" in the end, i dont have to know what im talking about. all i have to do is demo my car, demo speakers on the board, i can let the music do the talking for me.

once i actually told customers to get into contact with richard clark, that if they can prove me wrong, he will give them a check for $10,000. They didnt leave the shop very happy.
