Crossover Question

I'm installing my Clarion HX-D10 this Thursday, currently I have a crossover leading into the amps. What are the bennefits of keeping this in place when I install my new HU? The reason I bought it was because my old HU (JVC Kameleon.. POS) only had 1 RCA output. I am running componets in the front so they will crossed over by their own crossover and I will be running the sub off of sub RCA of the new HU. I have the componets crossed on the highpass right now which I think takes a lot of midbass out of the 6.5. I think I would gain that back if I didn't use the crossover with the new HU..

What do you guys think?

Umm.. no more ouboard X-over.. use the crossover on the amp to highpass the components at about 70-90HZ..depending on how muddy they get..and low pass the subs around 70-80hz....use the amps crossovers

So I shouldn't just use the HU's RCA's to each individual amp and let the crossovers that came with the BA componets do their job and the sub volume controller on the HU take care of the sub... I would like to use that feature of the HU (sub volume controler) with the crossover I have now it only has 1 input... I'm not sure how to adjust the xover hz range on each individual amp.. help please..

Do you have 1 amp or 2?.. run an RCA to each amp.. 2 RCA's..one for components.. 1 for the sub.. your amps should have built in crossovers.. the sub level on the HU is not a vrossover..but a seperate volume controll for the sub ...so you can crank it..or turn it down at night so not to disturb people while still listening to loud tunes

I have 2 Xtant 100Wrms... I see what your saying.. my main concern is getting back the mid level bass out of the componets that I might have lost by having the signal already crossed before the signal gets the the speakers crossover. How are the xtants configured as far as changing the hz?
