Will An Industrail Cap Work?

Hey Guys.

I am just curious about this, but I have a friend who is an electrician and I was showing him my system the other day (stereo that is ) and was telling him I would like to put a cap in to help with the power flow going to it and I told him that I was looking at a 1 farad cap. He said that he is doing a job right now and they are getting a shipment of caps in that are going to be used in the wiring of some big electric motor or something. He said he would try and snag one for me.

Now my question is this. Is there a difference between the ones sold at car audio stores and the one he can get me. I described what they were and he said the ones he get look exactly the same, so I was curious if they are the same and are just wraped in the product name. I dont know if that sounds right or not, but if you can follow it, let me know what your thoughts are on this.

Thanks
