whats the best way to wire it and where does it get its source?
and where is the best place to hide the power inverter so that it doesnt look fugly

just hook it up to your positive and negative of your head unit, its not that hard. Thats what I did for my LCD, and as for inverter, mine doesnt have one but you could probably hide it under your console. Later.
PPL know, but those who do are too cool to tell the rest of us.
If I were to do the setup, here's what I would do:
Assuming the LCD uses a 12v source, tapping off the cig. lighter power would be the easiest. it's near the location you want the screen, the wires are easy to tap off of and it's switched.
It would be easy to hide the wires behind the dash and/or center console.
As for the power inverter, depends on how big it is to begin with, but under the passenger seat would be good.
You can run the power cables right down the center console. Plus you can remove the seat for easier install.
just my .02¢

Yea let me know how that all works. So for your video source, your just using a PS2 right? there's no headunit type receiver your using? Also, where are you gonna mount yours. I want to get one but I dont know where Id mount it cause A.) I dont want to hack up the interior, and B.) I want it to be out of sight sometimes so no theivery goes on.

what im going to do is mount the screen right above the up holders
look at toretto's ride in the members section
and yes the ps2 is my primary source for audio and video so that should be ok
and then i just buy a power inverter for the ps2 and i should be set
i dont think im missing anything

Just a few more questions, what did he use to mount it there. and could there be a way to mount tthe screen, but be able to easily detach it to hide it when your not in the car. Just seems like it would be asking to get stolen. Also, is the inverter somehow hardwired into the car? Im just trying to visualize where everything would go. Would the PS2 and the inverter fit under the seat, and would you just use a normal PS2 controller for the remote?
