Grab a multimeter and test for voltage on any bare metal in the driver's side footwell. Use any always hot +12VDC (or turn your car on to acc and use the cigarette lighter adapter positive) for the positive line
Never did it with my 2002, but on my 2018, the mounting bolt for the fuse box ended up being a great ground for both my dash cam and DIY footwell lights, especially since I used fusetaps for the power source

I managed to install in my renault grand scenic but everything is in a different place.
