Amps?
Out of these five which is the best? I'm looking for power and to make alot of noise. Should i get Alpine, JL, JBL MTX, or sony? Your oppions are greatly appreciated.
First of All, stay away from Sony anything for your car. If you want power go with either an MTX 6500D for $309 at onlinecarstereo.com, or the JBL BP1200.1 for $289 at thezeb.com. The JBL is 1200x1 at 2 ohms, and the MTX, very underated, is 775x1 at 2 ohms. Alpine and JL are very nice but don't produce same amount of power as the MTX or JBL. What kind of subs will you be running?
the Alpine rocks, but the screen is a little bit smaller than others, but the quality is better. It's up to you, Clarion has a really nice one out you might be more interested in, but more $$$.

Your right, you pay for what you get. If you want good sound/equipment, you gonna pay for good sound/equipment. Just to add, I bought my Fosgate 800.2 for $300. Your Sony amp is only running like 200 watts rms, or around that. My Fosgate is running 400 watts rms. Much more power.
I would trust anything by Kenwood, Crossfire, Memphis, and of Course McIntosh and Earthquake of San Francicso. You do pay for what you get, however if you do your research you will find that you will find what you want.

MTX i have no experience with. ppl like them tho, i guess.....
JL definitely teh highest quality out of teh five......ill bet itl be the most expensive, too. most versatile, tho, cause its HEAVILY regulated
JBL is a workhorse amp, clean and clear. puts out TONS of power, is cheap, and comes with a decent crossover. but thats all.
Alpine had beautiful amps 5 years ago, but i dont know if they have been been keeping up with that. i know ppl who say they wont touch alpine now, even tho they own decade old alp amps that they still use in their cars.
sony? sony is a joke. WAY ovverrated. the amp will say 760 wats on teh outside, yet be RATED for 150 x2 at 4 ohms, and even that is at like 14.7 volts. will NOT do rated power. but its power is good, just dont expect to get what you pay for. I would only reccommend sony amps if you could get them REALLY REALLY cheap (like less than $100. thats a good deal!)
I PERSONALLY run JBL and earthquake amps (so i will be biased toward them, bear with me) In my system, i have no need of fancy amps that can do crazy stuff i dont care about, all i need are clean workhorse amps that can do basic crossover work. earthquake amps are underrated, SUPER cheap, and best of all, are unregulated (translation, more voltage = more power, its like gettign a more powerful amp free!)
if you have voltage problems, or like bells and fancy whistles, get teh JL amps. heavily regulated, they will always put out rated power at any voltage, at any ohm load. (kinda like your walkman, as the batteries drain, the tape doesnt play slower, it plays at teh same speed till the whole unit dies.)
if your looking for boatloads of cheap power, tho not quite as versatile, JBL will give you all the power you want, and still be versatile enough when you switch from DVC to SVC subs or vice versa.
if you want even more cheap power, and know exactly what impedance woofers youll be running, you cant beat earthquake for the $/watt ratio, and despite what ppl say about the amps, they ARE clean, will do great stage work as well as bass duty.
