you need to be more specific as to what you want or what you paln on doing in your car. hooking up speakers is just one wire with a pos. and neg. but are you gonna have component??? are you using an Amp for mids and highs? are you bi-amping your components?? or are you using coax. what kind of deck. any processors?? what subs are you using and how many? what ohm's are they and hwat amp are you pushing them with. what that amps rated power. what ohm level is it stable at..... i can go on and on .... so like i said give us more info on what you are tryin to do.......

I am using my STOCK DECK, running a 200 watt Fosgate amp or 600 watt Kenwood, (haven't decided yet) and I've got 2 10" JL's in the trunk at 200W each (4ohms). Now what I'm asking is do I need to buy any coax connection piece for my deck, how to connect the battery to my amp, the deck to the amp, the amp to the speakers, how to hide the wires etc...
I will only be using the amp to run the 2 subs for now. If you need more info, ask, or try to work with what I just gave you.

Thanx

ok for your amp

Power = run either 8 or 4 gauge power from the battery positive throught the firewall, under the carpet to the trunk the the positive on your amp

Ground = run from rear seatbelt bolt to amp use same gauge wire as power wire.

Amp turn on = run a wire from your stock HU under the carpet to your amp. you will need to tap into the ignition wire on your decks wiring harness. you can also get igntion from the cig lighter or other places just make sure it is not constant or your amp will stay on when the car is off.

Amp Input. if your amp has high level inputs that means it accepts speaker wire. if it has low level inputs or RCA inputs onl then you will have to buy a high to low converter. either way you can get your signal in the trunck by taping into the wires runing to the rear speakers. just pop your head under there and you can see the wire going straight to the spkrs. then run these wire either directy to your amp or to the converter then to the amp.

Speaker out = run your wires to your subs. make sure you know what ohs your subs are and how you r wiring them, and if you are using your amp in stereo or bridged.

then your amp MUST have a low-pass x-over.

Hey ben, how do you hook up your battery terminal? I bought a clamp battery connector and I hooked up my 4 gauge wire, but how do I hook it up to my battery? Do i have to cut my stock wires that come from the alternator???

I cut mine. I bought Monster Cable batter terms., each with the two smaller inputs and one large ring terminal on the stop for the amp. I just cut off the factory Red cover and clamped term. and slid the two into the small holes on the new one. Looks very clean and worked like a charm.

yes you have to cut those wires off the old battery clamp. Now you can at this time replace all your stock wiring with 4 gauge so you don't have any loss in power. And add a 4 gauge ground too.
