MTX has started to go downhill with their production line-up since Crutchfield is now their main dealer, it's like when RF got bought buy BEst Buy, all the RF products at Best Buy blow.
Hope you got your from an actual stereo shop and not an Best Buy type of place, if you did then it should be good, if you got it from a Best Buy type place be prepared to take it back for a new one almost every pound you do.

i would have to dissagree with jdog.... n since your going with a 15, i'm thinking you dont really care too much about sound quality... you might want to look at rockford fosgate's power hx2s... they're about the same price as mtx 8000 but hit much harder... the power hx2 has like an 8 inch magnet, it supposidly hits 1000wrms, compared to mtx's 500wrms.... i know this one site had the power hx2s 15"for 300 but their out of stock.

I must reitterate, the produtcs carried by Best Buy are not to be used in a high fidelity stereo system. The HX2's are a very good sub but I believe that they are more geared toward the people who want loud bass and not sound quality bass.

ya thats true, you dont see focal or mbquartz in their stores. but i mean he's talking about mtx and a 15" sub, i dont really think he cares too much about quality so thats why i think fosgate is the way to go.
