Audio gurus....... please help........

I just bought a new amp because my old one was crap and it was old. now i'm running 2 10" pioneers i got from a friend.when i turn it up too high which i don't think is too high, the bass completely cuts off for a few seconds they are the same ones i had with the old amp i had the same problem with the old amp but it was a peice of crap KOILER they sound much better with the new amp. the amp is a kenwood excelon 301 600x1. could it be that the subs are just too old or did i wire it wrong. i ran the positive and negative from one speaker to the other speaker and briged the amp. PLEASE HELP.

You may have your subs wired to a 2ohm mono load.. you're probably overheating the amp dude .. are the subs dual 4ohm DVC..or single 4OHM voice coils?

You could be reaching the limit on what your sub can handle and it is just clipping the rest of the note.

It has nothing to do with what the subs can handle. It's the amp itself.

true, the amplifier will "temporaril shutdown" if overloaded. Thermal Protecion or some jazz like that...
The subs don't have any real protection from overload, if you overload a sub it's gonna blow. You need to find what that amp is stable @. My amp is stable at the following specs:

Memphis 1000D:

RMS Power 4 ohm (Watts)300 x 1
RMS Power 2 ohm (Watts)600 x 1
1 Ohm Power (Watts)1100 x 1
THD 4 ohm (0.75%)
Frequency Response +/- 1 dB (10Hz-650Hz)
Dimensions (in.) 6.5 x 2 x 13.4

I got 4 Memphis Studio 10'' Subs, all of them are 4 ohm,... hook em up right and they are 1 ohm,... my Amp is one Ohm stable... alot of Amps aren't.
