Gauge swap, Hybrid to EX??
Gauge swap, Hybrid to EX??
Hey everyone, so I was wondering, would it be possible to put an gauge cluster from a hybrid 2004 civic into my ex?? I know that it would most likely need some splicing done since it need specific read outs, but I think the digital read outs would look sick. I also realized I would probably have to switch the ecu's wouldnt i? Would that even be possible going from hybrid to non? It would mess with my engine timing and everything wouldnt it?
But say if i got this one, could i put it in my car
and have it work? This is for the MT.

not worth it. a member or two did the swap but even with all the wire diagrams to cut and splice it all, some features still will not work like the coolant temp, battery meter, mpg display, and few other things that require the hybrid ecu. but you cannot swap ecus because your engine will not work with a different ecu. there is just too much that wont work properly.

Alright, thanks, saves me the time and money of figuring that out the hard way. I do though have one question, do you, or someone else, know if there is a way to put in a digital display that is gerry rigged?

oh yeah, none of that will even work. the hybrid system is too different and most of the extras on the cluster will be useless.

Haha, we'll yeah, I am kinda new, but my brother switched gauges and ecu on his Sebring so he could use the auto shift capability from the limited. He already was prewired cause it was kinda like fog lights, you may not have them but odds are you are prewired for them, so it got me thinking about my car.
