Running subs on road trip
Im going on another U.S/Canada road trip (appx 1100 miles each way) I normally give the car 20min or so whenever I stop for fuel but is that enough break for the amp. I wont have the gain up on the amp and it wont be on blast the whole time but still the amp will be powered and getting pretty hot. Like anything else the more you use it... so I wonder if I should pull the inline fuse periodically or something along the way? Dont want to kill it, I'm not running anything crazy just a single 12 on a 350 max.

If its a good quality amp and it isn't stuffed somewhere where it can't breath then it will be fine. As long as you don't have anything right up against the amp it will be able to cool it self.

You should be fine. I've done numerous 1300+ mile road trips blasting my music.. lol

Re: Running subs on road trip
Even if you have a bad quality amp, most often than not, they will have a self protection feature where if the amps become too hot, they will shut themselves off. If your amp is shutting off during the trip, its probably time to turn off the music for a bit.
I run a JL 500/1v2, which shuts off at high temps, or if voltage drops below 10V.
I drove 480 miles on one trip with one bathroom break, and I haven't had it shut off on me, though I also am not running it full blast all the way there.

Thanks fella's, I got a pretty decent set up but my amp is older - bazooka el series. Looked around but couldnt find if it had thermal protection...regardless I wont sweat it.
