i just bought a street glow exhaust tip and it says i need to connect it to the 12v tail light wire. but i dont know where that is or what color it is..sorry =\ im new to all this car stuff

First get a simple wire test or fuse tester... Hook it up to the chasis (the wire with the aligator clamp)... Turn on the headlights the back lights should come on. Take out the socket that attaches to the rear bulb holder and test each wire. The tester should light up for the constant positive with the lights on and it should not light up with the lights off.. This is the one you would tap into.. Don't know the color but thats the best way you can find out and confirm for yourself...
