Alarm not working but panic button works
Alarm not working but panic button works
So I was about to get a new stereo to replace my stock one and then the thoughts about my car getting broken into came up in my mind.
I never once heard my car alarm go off ever since I bought the car a few months ago. So I went outside, made sure my doors were locked and gave my car a friendly kick and got no reaction from the car. I hit it at multiple places hard enough to make it obvious for the car but still lightly enough to not leave a mark. The alarm won't go off.
I tested my panic button and it works fine. Horn screams loud and proud. My driver's door has a broken lock actuator? so I have to lock it with the key but I can still lock it the second time to hear the honk.
The red LED next to the steering wheel doesn't blink.
I've searched the forums and no one seems to have the same problem as me so that's why I'm here asking
Is my alarm just broken?

Re: Alarm not working but panic button works
7th gen civics don't have stock alarms. the red led your talking about is the anti-theft radio, its the security device that makes you enter a code once power to the radio is lost.
