New build for the civic
New build for the civic
Starting a new stereo build for the civic this spring. Gotta keep holding the the title of loudest single 12 in Canada lol. New set up Rockford t2500-1db (3600watts rms) one 12 inch kicker solo X. Custom made ported enclosure. One kinetic 1400 battery under the hood. Two more 2400 kinetic in the trunk floor moulded in the sapre tire well under plexieglass. Hertz Mille compenets speakers fiberglassed into the front doors. Matching Rockford t400-4 for just the fronts Rockford power 6x9 in the rear moulded in the rear deck. And lots and lots of wires sound deadening. As ofright now just wait on my solo x to start the build. But hopefully it will be done end of spring. Will post pics soon. Going to try to get in the 150db club

WHAT?!?! SPEAK UP BOY, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
Damn kids. Get off my lawn.
I work in a shop. I'm around loud stuff every day.
I ride a big Hog with open pipes.
My lowrider has amps and subs (Pioneer 10's).
I've been around race cars most of my life, off and on.
This was different. This changed something. This is scary.
Wednesday evening last week I was hanging out in a friends shop for an hour or so after work.
"Hey! Check this out!"
He fired up one of the boats. Blown 454 Chevy. Open headers. He blipped the throttle a couple times to WIDE ****ING OPEN 6000 RPM.
I was standing waaaay too close.
So damn loud I had to grab my ears.
Serious pain.
Real serious pain.
Pain that made me think this wasn't a good idea.
Pain that made me think something serious just happened.
Pain went away after he shut the engine off. Most of it, anyway.
Probably perforated an ear drum. Likely to be that from what I read.
RRRrrrriiiiinnnnnngggggggggggg
I know I lost some of my hearing in the right ear.
You know that ringing you get in your ears occasionally that goes away after a minute or so? It didn't.
Horribly loud ring for 28 hours.
Sound like static on an AM radio where there isn't any station when I opened my mouth wide.
Wrong. Just wrong.
Lessened a bit after 28 hours.
The ringing hasn't quit completely yet. I can hear it over the TV right now.
I lost probably 50% of my hearing in that ear for that entire day.
The hearing is almost back to normal in that ear now, but a bit of loss still.
Still have a high pitch ringing and it has been 4 or 5 days now.
I may put the baffles back in the pipes on the bike.
Would I look funny wearing those huge noise cancelling ear protectors on the bike?
Protect your hearing.
Permanent hearing loss is permanent.
