Another XP'er.. there are currently no prgrams I can find that will allow you to successfully rip and burn CD's with XP.. Nero CD burner works if you D'load the MP3's off the net.. but there's no rippers that work for me..
Cheers

suckers!! that's why I stick to Windows 2000 =)
seriously though, you might want to try EAC for ripping, I haven't tried it for XP, but works fine in
Windows 2000, here's the link to EAC
I also burns... but I've only used it to rip audio's to MP3s. You'll also need a codec (for compressing to mp3s),
easiest way is to install Win32LAME and then just tell EAC where
you installed LAME at.
Install Win32LAME first, then install EAC and you should be all set.
for more info, check out r3mix.net - tons of info on mp3s, how to rip, etc.

Easy CD Extractor is what you need for XP to rip the CD's to the harddrive. it also comes with Easy CD File Converter to encode the files to mp3.
To burn the CD's you need Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum. My bro uses XP and that combo of tools seems to work fine. peace.

Oh yeah, a friend just said that you can just simply drag and drop mp3s to the burner, right click, and it'll burn it as
a data CD. Dunno if that works... so don't blame me if you get coasters! heh

<< CDex works fine for me on XP. Go with that >>
For ripping or burning?.. Burning there's alot of programs that work or patches to make em work..it's a ripper I can;t get to work..
windows XP is so immature, i hate it. I like the good old Win 98
, A few bugs that occur here and there but as far as programs that work are concerned 98 is good with almost everything.

have you tried Audio Grabber? that is a pretty popular one for ripping.

EAC is probably the best ripper, like edy stated.
But if you change the ripper settings in CDex to the full paranoia and under encoder, use the r3mix preset as the quality, then you're pretty much as good as EAC. Both EAC and CDex are free and should work under xp

If your trying to make an audio CD ( I just breezed though the earlier posts...didn't read them all) in Windows XP you can use Windows Media Player. Its a tab called "Copy to CD or Device". Nero works also.
Man... why all you hatin on XP, haha. I like it, way better than ME. Not sure about 2k though. I leave my computer on 24/7 and it hardly ever freezes up unless its been on 7 days or more. But yah, there's alot of programs out to create MP3 and you can even use windows explorer. Just click and drag. I have both Nero and Easy CD Platinum, both work fine. Burns alot faster too than ME did.
