question about free Punch he2
I was just given two free RF punch He2 10" subs, they are in perfect condition and I wanted to get an anp for them. they are dual 4 ohm and the web says they can handle 400w each (rms). Here's my question, a friend of mine has a rockford 500w( bridged) amp that he is using to power two regular rf 12" subs. Should I buy that amp off him for 200 and use it to power my he2's or should I look for a 800w amp. I was told that I should stick with rf amps if I have an rf sub, Thanx

the 500 watt amp will bump them good. getting a bigger amp (socially if a class a/b amp will be hell on your electrical system if you like to crank it)... as they're dual 4ohm subs you'd need either a 4ohm mono stable amp (would be class a/b) or a 1ohm stable amp (would be class D but I don't think there's any amps that small that are 1ohm stable)

Thanx for the 411 mohawk, I have another question about the bow. I'm gonna go to a shop and get a bow for the 2 10" Do you think they will sound better ported sealed or bandpass, I know that you guess talked about this before, but I don't know if these speakers have special needs. All I was told is that they require a hell-of-a-lot of air space?

generally they'll sound best sealed. avoid bandpass at all costs (well if you like the sound of bandpasses go ahead.. Ported they require HUGE enclosures.. Selaed I'm not sure..check RF's site..
