Hardwiring radar detector, fuse keeps blowing heelppp please!?

Okay, so i have wired a 12v plug in to my radio fuse and plugged my radar detector in to hide the wires under the steering wheel, i installed a switch (to turn the radar on and off while the car is running) in the middle of the wiring and installed it beside my dash, however everytime that i turn the switch off it blows the little glass tube fuse that is in the 12v cigarette lighter plug in, why is this switch blowing my fuses? thanks
