Heater broken after AC treatment

Hi all,

I have a Honda civic 1.6 2001 executive. Recently the heater stopped working - the fans can only blow cold air and it's a pain getting rid of mist on the windscreen.

Just before it happened I bought one of those antimicrobial spray canisters and put it through the air-con as per instructions. You think I might have shorted something? I wondered if it might be a blown fuse.

Suggestions welcome - thanks!

have topped up the coolant - problem still there. Further reading on this suggest it has nothing to do with the electrics - apologies for mis-posting here

I topped up the expansion tank. After some reading, I checked the pipes leading to and from the radiator. The top pipe that feeds coolant to the radiator is hot but the bottom one that takes coolant away is cool. You think I may have a blockage? If so, what's the best way of getting rid of it?

Re: Heater broken after AC treatment

you need make sure the radiator's topped off, not just the expansion tank. so take the radiator cap off when it's cool and fill it up there. if there's too much air in the radiator, it's hard for it to pull from the expansion tank. this was my experience anyway.
