Re: Best aftermarket stereo?
dont ge cheap dual u will have problems with them. first do u own a ipod? if u do u can get the alpine cde-102 i think is the model # its made for ipod or a sony with usb eather on the front or rear of radio u can get one for like the 150 u wanna spend and as far as the radio getting stolen just take the face off and or put metal straps from the radio to metal from the car. if u have any questions hit me up.
Re: Best aftermarket stereo?
lol i actually just bought the cheap *** thing because it had a usb port and aux port and i wanted to play my ipod. and on top of that i was going to just go get a new one and give that one to my brother when he got his car. but right now i just am looking to get rims and **** like that.lol im also gettin ready to paint up my car. but another way to stop people from stealing your radio. and i liked this idea just didnt do it. put razor blades on your radio like off the sides a little bit. let them bitches ****** it in the dark then.lol
Re: Best aftermarket stereo?
okay thanks guys thats helpful. i dont kno a whole lot bout stereos and stuff so would i need to buy any cables or anything to get a new HU to work? i was shopping online at best buy and they have this thing to see if it fits your car, and none of them did haha so i dont kno what to think of that. and no, i dont have an ipod, like the only one who doesnt lol

I would recommend you check out Crutchfield's website. They are not the cheapest but service is excellent. The also include a wiring harness and the dash mounting kit at no charge. The wiring harness and dash kit will cost you between $40 and $50 elsewhere so you should factor that into the descision.

get something like this:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1302200...B.html?tp=5684
only $110 and comes with free shipping, and the installation bracket and harness are included, along with instructions. there's cheaper ones too, but that has an included iPod connector and a USB and AUX port as well.

if you want to get a really well rounded system you can start off with an inexpensive alpine deck, they will improve your stock speakers fairly nicely...then from there you can look at upgrading your speakers, for me I just recently picked up four 6 1/2 MB Quart speakers which the music quality is absolutly awesome, but its quite pricey, i've got a V12 125w rms x 4 for the speakers and V12 1000w rms running my Xtype Alpine 12

I'm running an Alpine cda-105 and plug and play ktp-445 amp to power my stock speakers (which are quite good btw) and I have a bazooka bta8100fhc 8 inch sub which adds enough umph for me. The only thing I don't like about the cda-105 is that the display is unreadable in bright sunlight but at night it's sweet.
Crutchfield is highly recommended.
