Is this possible?
is it possible to have a good bass sound with just having speakers. I personally don't like the idea of having subs cause it takes space in the trunk and damn heavy. is there any speakers that can give me a good bass with clarity of course, just loud enough to feel the thump cause i listen to hip-hop and trance music alot. any idea on which brand could give me this particular sound. i think almost all of them works, just power them with an amp instead of the hu, my 6.5 in the front hits pretty hard midbass, but you are out of luck for low bass like rap has
like VoiceofId said, you can get good midbass out of a good component set powered by an external amp, but you won't get the low end bass that subs can produce. check out Allman's sub box that he made. it holds one 10" and it barely takes any space. he has provided the schematics on how to make it if you are interested. that would provide the low end you are looking for.
ive never been impressed with kicker or infinity enclosures. not very good for wha tyou pay.
but, like you said, if all you want is to "feel" a thump when teh bass hits, you get a pair of radioshack 8" woofers and wedge them under the seats on a small amp. that will shake teh seat, and they only cost $30 a piece. also the seat muffles the sound so you dont hear any added distortion.
hey if all you care about is teh feel, itll definitely save space and weight, too!

You could also buy one of the amp/sub packages I've see arround. Mostly infinity. They are amp and sub in one. It only takes up as much space as a basketball in your trunk. Try that.
