Subs - Amp Combination...Will this work????
Can somebody please let me know if this setup will work......I dont wanna spend a lot of money and then blow my appliances:
JL Audio 12W3-D4 12in Subwoofer x 2 RMS Power 250 Watts
OR
JL Audio 12W3-D2 12in Subwoofer x 2 RMS Power 250 Watts
Whats the difference between D4 and D2 coz theres no price difference. Does one give better output than the other?
What amp will push two of these subs:
Im thinking:
JL Audio 300/2 2 Channel Amplifier
- Rated Power: 150 W RMS x 2 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V)
- Rated Power (bridged): 300 W RMS x 1 @ 3 ohm-8 ohm (11V-14.5V)
- THD at Rated Power: <0.03% @ 4 ohm
- S/N Ratio*: >108.5 dB below rated power
- Frequency Response: 5
OR
Kenwood KAC-729S 2 Channel Amplifier
- stereo, mono or Tri-Way output
- Bridged Power Output at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 300 Watts x 1
- Maximum Output Power: 600 Watts
- Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 150 Watts x 2
- Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 14.4V (20Hz-20kH
OR
Kenwood KAC-829 2 Channel Amplifier
- stereo, mono or Tri-Way output
- 300 watts x 1 in bridged mode
- 150 watts x 2 at 2 ohms
- 100W x 2 at 4 ohms
- 80 Hz selectable low-pass crossover, 18 dB/octave
- large aluminum badge with blue LED power indicator
- speaker-level input
I dont understand any of the above specs and what they mean!!! Can anyone please help me setup!!!!!!!

well with D2 and D4 are the voice coil resistances.. the D2's have Dual(2) 2ohm voice coils.. with a pair of these subs you can get a .5ohm or 2ohm mono load.... the D4 have (2) 4 ohm Voice coils. a pair of these can be wired in 4ohm or 1 ohm mono loads.. If you get the JL amp.. either set will do..if you get any of th eother amps which can only support 4ohm mono..you need the D4's.. there's no diff in output.. just ohm load.
