to amp, or not to amp???
to amp, or not to amp???
ok so im not going to put in a sub. i just want to replace the stock speakers with really nice ones. im not completely against having an amp, i just would rather not get one if theres not going to be much of a difference. which of the two (good speakers meant to be un-amped vs. those meant to be amped) will sounds better and will it be that much of a difference???? also what brands are recommended? ive been told the top dogs are pretty much pioneer and infinity. im not too worried about price..... as long as its not ridiculous.
Re: to amp, or not to amp???
those definitely are not the top dogs MB QUART,FOCAL, diamond audio, morel, just to name a few and you always use a amp or amps when using after market speakers.i personally use mb quart components front and back with alpine v power amps which sound amazing and wont break the bank dont forget good quality wires dont go shoping at walmart for a kit use rockford, monster, tsunami thats what i use.

Re: to amp, or not to amp???
if you listen to music fairly loud, get the amp. if just normal to low, stick with speakers only. but decide first cause if you dont want the amp, you should get lower power handling speakers like some pioneers that are around 35w rms so that you are not underpowering them. but if you get an amp, then you will need higher power handling speakers like 60wrms+ and the amp should provide 3/4 of their max rated rms power. infinity and pioneer are good lower end speaker if you dont have alot of $$ but still want good sound.

best buy has a very limited selection of brands i would go to your local audio store and look for last years model amps and speakers they should be substantially cheaper with a wider array of brands to choose from or you could buy online this is a good cheap and reputable site
