Rep Power: 0 New Style Key Question
I've been searching for a few days on this and can't find anything...
But is there any way at all that I can get the new style Civic key (all in one) to work with my '04 Civic Sedan EX? Right now I have the separate key and fob.
Any insight into this is appreciated... Thanks!

I am going to guess no here. The remote would not work since its more than likely completely different. As far as the key goes I think they are both cut the same way so that might work but even on that I am just guessing.

keys are different. old style is a regular key with coded chip. new key is completely different with laser cut shape. i guess assuming you changed all your lock cylinders it would work, but not sure on the programming part.

I have one of those flip keys from ebay and it works great. All you have to do is get the key cut and get the immobilizer transponder programmed at the dealership ($100)

Yeah, But where is the 03-05 transponder located? Do I have to cut the key all open to get it out?
Iīve been trying to find this out, but I just donīt find it anywhere...

i think its inside the plastic piece. theres a locksmith here that only charges $40 for a transponder key. no idea how they do it tho.

Re: New Style Key Question
I Actually wanted to use that fold type keys on my civic, when I had a 97 VTi (wich has no transponder) I used it and loved it, and wanted to have one of those for the "new" car.
I hate having things hangin on my keys, that damn keyless remote bugs me a lot.
