You gain by having less frequency cancellation.. a better sound stage..SPL loss is minimal and nothing to worry about if you have a good component set up front.

For competition and audiophile purposes Most definately..Besides in your car.. How often do listed to music coming from behind you?.. (with the exceptions and 5.1 surround sound )
.. Also rear speakers bouncing off the glass cause some very harsh high frequncy peaks which makes for a very unbalanced system.. Some prefer louder speakers behind em..if it's what you liek go for it.. but by definition of sound quality it's a no=no.. but for a daily driver it's a matter of preference really.
Cheers

<< gain....... how so??
but then do u lose spl >>
actually, you gain both SQ and SPL. before you do this, you need to make sure you ahve enough midbass up front to match teh freq difference between your 6.5 and your bass. otherwise youll have a fatty hole and it will sound like crap.......
but if you can represend all frequencies, then yeah... better stage, cleaner sound... and you opened up two huge holes in your rear deck to let all that bass into teh cabin!
wow, that's kinda crazy sometimes when I fade everything to the front just for fun I start missing my rear sound... Sometimes I even think I like my sound coming from the back better than the front...
But since you are speaking from a professional point of view I can't argue, I'm not in that category obviously, I'm just the regular joe blow
