driver's door not grounded
driver's door not grounded
2002 honda civic coupe ex
i recently bought a 02 civic coupe ex.....the drivers door wouldn't lock so after reading all the threads about actuators i've ordered a new one.....however i have recently discovered a new problem isolated only to the drivers door....
as i was changing the stock door speaker it would not come on only the passenger speaker and rear speakers were on.....so when i put the circuit tester on the speaker to check it, it came on when i touched to neagtive side....so im thinking that there is no ground in that side.....i say this because when ever i touch that ground wire with my circuit tester the stock tweeter would come on... this problem is isolated to only the drivers door as the other speakers work
any ideas?

Re: driver's door not grounded
poor contacts in the door connector? the one behind the rubber hose? in the door jam, ive seen this happen a few times... you could patch it up, unfortunatly the best fix IF this is the case is to replace the floor harness.. unfortunatly, its not very fun
