Factory or Aftermarket?
Factory or Aftermarket?
I was looking for some ideas for a double din install on my 03 civic lx and came across this. The caption states that this is on a 2005 EX special edition sedan. Judging by the head unit it looks stock. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I would love to be able to get this entire bezel. Got a quote from a couple area installers and they want 500.00 to make mine look like this. Does that seem high to anyone else?

Re: Factory or Aftermarket?
its stock for the 2005 special edition civics, either lx or ex models, which come with a spoiler, wheels and this sweet radio
the radio is a 6 disk changer with mp3 capability, as well as an external aux port you can plug an mp3 player into, altho you cant go through the tracks through the deck, just through the player
you can get a remote for this deck too
the dash piece is also different from the standard one as well, altho if you get the piece, and a double din radio, it will stick out flush with where the stock radio would sit, the special edition radio is about 3/4" shorter

in case you haven't pulled your radio out yet (i don't know if you have or not) here is what the normal stock (non-SE) bezel looks like 'behind' the radio...
if you have a screen already, just imagine that where my SE radio is (and black)

heres a pic of the se panel with a double din radio.. looks sorta ghetto cause theframe around the radio doesnt fit... and the fact that it sticks out quite a bit bugs me a little.. but not enough to care

Re: Factory or Aftermarket?
So I ended up just getting this bracket instead of getting the bezel form a ex. I am going to fill and sand to make it look on piece. Any suggestions on what I should use to fill? JB weld, bondo, fiber glass resin? I want something that will dry hard not crack and is fairly easy to sand.

If you go on Majestic Honda parts site, pick an 05 EX Special Edition, Category "Instrument Panel Garnish (Passenger Side). I think it's item 10, $63.70 Online, $91 at the dealer. Not 100% that it's exactly the right part, but it looks to be correct.
