amp questions
If I were to hook up an amp to only a 250 watt speaker, should I go with a 500watt one or a 750 watt one?
Would a 750 watt amp use up my battery a lot more than a 500 one?
How much more and how long would I expect the battery to die, especially with HIDs and maybe in the future HID fogs.
Where is a good place to hook the ground to in the trunk?
Do I absolutely need the ring things to screw into the amp / ground or can i just cut the rubber and screw the wires directly into the ground/amp?

Re: amp questions
If your sub is going to be pushing 250w, then get the 500watt amp. There's no need to go 750w as there is no difference. The sub's rating is 250w and cannot go any higher.
Since you don't carry some heavy artillery subs as some members do, you won't see a major difference in battery life.
Where ever you place your amp, find the nearest place possible to ground it (sides or at the back of your trunk). Don't run loops of wires around your trunk.
Absolutely get the wire terminals ("rings"). You don't want lose wires...that can ruin your entire equipments. Don't forget the fuses.

Re: amp questions
ok first of all....you needa be just a lil more specific.
when running 250w speakers with ur "amp", is ur amp a 4 channel 500w? or a 1channel amp with 500w (or 700w for that matter)
if you run a 250w speaker with a 500w amp (500w to that line) you will possibly blow that speaker/sub if you turn it up using almost all 500/700w. the speaker was simply not designed to handle that much
when choosing speakers/amp make sure the amp has atleast 75% RMS wattage of the speaker for it to sound good.
as for ur battery, when ur car is turned on, ur power consumtion is depended on ur mostly alternator...not ur battery(if battery at all).
you should be ok running the 500w and the 700w with ur hids.
although, if u turn ur speaker volume up..(like really high) you will be able to notice ur tails dim JUST A LITTLE when the bass of ur speakers really hit.
you will most liekly not use all 500 or 700 of those watts constantly.
as for grounding, you can ground it to ur trunk, just make sure you have good contact from ur metal wire to the trunk. meaning, clean it, and sand it down a lil and clean it some mroe to make sure the bare metal on the trunk is showing.

Re: amp questions
Can I use the loose wires a while until i get terminals?
I have two amp options available to me and I tried both and I like the 750w one a lot more than the 500w one..
I believe the 750w is a 4 channel and I am only using 1 channel.
is there a specific screw or something ti ground because I tried the one on the very top of the tail light and it did not work for long.

Re: amp questions
What I meant by lose wires is you don't want wires to disconnect from the amp when you're driving around. It can result in a short somewhere in the circuit and that's the end of it.
If you have one sub, go for a mono amp (1 channel). You will get more power that way. For the 4 channel 750w, you have 187.5w per channel. 4 channel amps are usually used for internal speakers rather than subs. So i'd recommend a mono amp, 500w and below. Further down the line if you want to add another sub, the amp can still handle the load.
For grounding, use the metal bar at the back of the trunk, near the seats. If you can, use the existing holes or just drill another to your liking. Just remember to remove the paint from that surface or it will not work. You can use a flat head to scratch the paint off.
