Try this journey again

Hey whats up. Just finished workin on my system so heres how it turned out.

SUBS -- Rockford Fosgate POWER 15 HX2
AMP -- Orion XTRPRO 2400 mmmmm 2400 watts baby
DECK -- Premier Deh-p740MP
EQ -- Audio Control EPIC-150 under deck it shows SPL levels and voltage and works like there epicenter
M/H -- Infinity Kappa Components 6.5 front
AMP -- A/D/S 110x2

Ok and i have red neon in that lil tunnel into the cabin and one above the 15's but they r not bright enough to take a pic in the dark it wouldn't turn out but it looks cool i guess. and Mohawk no talk about CAPS or BATS or ALTS i'm workin on it ........ i have a 2 farad cap in the mail i'm gettin the battery and then i'll look towards OHIO

And heres some more pics the first is my door requested by lil rabit and the second is to make mowhawk happy to know that my rears are now long gone.

Ok i added a pic of the amp that sits in the wheel well. it has dual 4 gauge inputs so i had to run two from the batt to the cap to the amp so thats why there are so many wires on the cap. everything just barely fit under there so there wasn't much room for wire managment. the Orion amp is 26 inches long. but you never see down there anyways.

And again here are some pics showing how i keep the trunk during normal days and when i go out of town. And i threw in a pic of some new Ichibahn Brushed Billet Aluminum "Mesh Design" pedals i just got.

hmmmm where did my pics go ...... ?????

Yes the subs are each in there own enclosures and then there is a pass-thru between them with mini 9inch red neons in it. I didn't want to seal off the trunck to cabin completely that way some bass can sneak through.

for fun i guess cause i unplugged the rca cause they where buggin me and i don't want to tear apart the rear deck again to take them out so they just sit there. the 6.5 in the doors i just cut the hole bigger, put in a baffle mounted the 6 and put the tweet on a bridge over the 6. i'll take pics next time i take the door off.

haha, i guess i should apologise for saying i liked the instal then?

when a sub is known to sound like *** no matter how you install it, kinda hard to build SQ, there was no disrespect!

note the winky face with teh toungue sticking out, note how i mention that its a personal dislike for RF, im sorry you got all butthurt about it......

and why do you care if i shed tears for your system? hahaha.

and I was actually looking for an answer when i asked if you like your RF subs, i was looking for another opinion about them, if you like teh SQ, whatever there is of it, THAT is why I actually posted.........sorry next time ill use a question mark, i guess.......... =/

last install i heard with RF power hx2 15's was ported in a CRV, was doing 166.x outlaw (cheater! =p) couldnt pull over a 135 on teh dash to save his life tho =/

again, I apologise that you misinterpreted what I said.

well they r 15's so there not gonna sound as tight as some sq 12's but unless i was to get in and out of my car and then mowhawks car and then your car and compare or whatever and really listen maybe i'll tell the difference but for all i'm concerned it sounds fine and i tried them in my old ported enclosure and they didn't sound good. I have an spl meter under the deck that reads up to 145 with the windows up so far but i still have to run new wire, instal a cap and get a real battery so that should change. Plus i'll prob slide the box back a lil towards the rear and gain some dbs if i ever compete. and with the mic closer to the windsheild that number will be higher. sorry but i don't post my stuff just to have someone like you talk bad about it and if you have a fact or something i did wrong that you need to tell me than fine but otherwise enjoy what you have and let me enjoy mine.

didnt do anything wrong....yet. i was seriously asking about how you like the SQ of your woofers, given the dismal record of rockford fosgate and SQ. i actualy have a ported 15 in my car, going for two soon, when teh fiberglass arrives.

as far as a battery and cap....these actualy rob SPL, not increase it. pushing th ebox back should both improve SQ and SPL however. it depends on how sealed up your trunk is, however, because honestly, if that hole is the only place sound travels into teh cabin, your trunk IS a tuned bandpass box....... could I get some specs?

I would personally like to know how much area that hole is, how deep it runs, and how big the box is (net, AND internal volume) the nice tehing about bandpass (cause we know it aint frequency response =p) is that only the tuned frequencies can get through, you dont hear the ACTUAL woofer, which can especially help with woofers like RF, and especailly audiobahn (ive seen a bunch of BP to go with 10W0 too =/)

as to reducing SPL, i dont know about mic positioning in this case, but a battery AND a capacitor both increase the load on your alternator, which leaves less for the amp. I dont think IF you decide to compete that you will have problems withour electrical syste,m, all it has to do is supply current for 1/2 second, then recharge the battery

most of the fat systems i see with 16 batteries and such are GENERALLY so taht they can compete in teh deathmatch style competitions, NO WAY you can sustain 160+ Db on just one battery and a 70 amp alt. (or a 120 HO alt, for that matter.)

i know for a fact that a cap WILL reduce SPL. I HIGHLY doubt that a battery will increase SPL, pretty sure that it will reduce, but I quite frankly have no proof, and no theory to back it up. I base this assumption on the fact that the cap is a huge strain on the electrical system, and that unless it can provide current for the entire burp (like 50 farad) it aint gonna do any good. maybe i will test some day

think you could take some measurements fo my curiosity? =D

ok lil bunny here ya go but i don't see how it could be bandpass at all if there is so much room around the box for air to flow. It's like its sealed off or anything.

W=14.5
H=15
D1=11.5
D2=10

W=6 for pass-thru h/d =same

these are all internal meas.

and i'm not sure the freq. i just burned my friends bass mekanik cd and i played track 47-50 and got 145 but it hit 145 just playin techno and rap songs to.

i wanna chock all this up to a big fat LOL if i am right.........you have a very interesting set of circumstances if i am right!

try opening your doors, fliping down your seats and playing tones...... does the first peak "happen" to be around 33 Hz ish? with rather sharp dropoffs before and after? (should pick up again after that....)

cause we all know what 33 Hz represents....

thanx for the props. yeah i just buit a little bridge and angled it up and back a little and it sounds great. I'm gonna get the CDT Audio HD-642DT 3-way set soon and see if i can figure ou how to make some kick panels so it will sound even better. but for the past year those Infinity spkrs have been great for the money. The box is made of MDF then i painted it in Polyurethane a few times to seal the wood cause it is porus and then i primed it and painted it with some automotive spray primer and then painted a few coats of the plasticote stuff we use for our trim pieces. and then one last coat of clear coat. turned out nice and shinny.
